Site Presentation

The new public space reclaims the riverside and enhances the urban landscape by supporting ecological connectivity and urban resilience. Its effectiveness was proven during Storm Gloria in 2020, as controlled flooding directed water to a drainage basin and spillway, minimizing flood impact. This project revitalizes the Llobregat River area near Sallent, reconnecting the community to its natural and industrial heritage. Located on reclaimed river land between the gas tower and an old factory, the design promotes ecological connectivity, improved water management, and biodiversity, restoring the area’s identity through sustainable, nature-based solutions.
