Site Presentation
Medellín’s Green Corridors project is an innovative urban greening initiative that has transformed busy streets, riverbanks, and highways into lush, green pathways, connecting parks and public spaces throughout the city. By planting thousands of trees and creating shaded walkways, these corridors improve air quality, reduce urban heat, and promote biodiversity, providing a habitat for native flora and fauna. Designed to mitigate the effects of climate change, these green corridors also offer residents cooler, more walkable spaces, encouraging a shift towards more sustainable urban living. This project has reshaped Medellín into a model city for climate resilience and environmental stewardship, enhancing the quality of life for its residents.
